Nexus has expanded its capabilities!

Nexus is now able to build through hole, surface mount, or mixed PCB assemblies at its facility in Fletcher, North Carolina. The new manufacturing line can achieve a rate of over 40,000 placements per hour, and off-line setup capabilities reduces reconfiguration times.

The line begins with a UltraPrint 2000 HiE system. Its flexible, modular design ensures adaptability to various board types, and its patented alignment system provides superior accuracy and repeatability for screen printing.

The Mirae MPS 1010 is a high speed 'pick and place' system. It can handle PCB's from 50mm x 50mm to 410 x 360mm, and can place components from 0201 to 18mm2 in size.

Next in line is the Quad QSP-2. This highly versatile machine is designed to pick and place components accurately in a demanding production environment. It handles components ranging in size from 0401 to large QFP and BGA packages.

The heating and cooling chambers of the
Conceptronics HVA 102 solder reflow convection oven incorporates 'filterless' flux and flow technology to maintain optimal operating conditions.

Connecting all these pieces of equipment is a programmable Transport System that presents boards to the machines. Each rail has motor driven flexible conveyor belts on which the edges of the circuit boards ride.

To maintain high quality, PCB's are closely inspected at an in-line station before components are soldered.
